Description

The game is a version of the popular Dots and Box game for up to five players, programmed with Turbo Pascal 3.0 routines and GSX graphics extensions for CP/M. The game allows five players simultaneously or chosen by the computer to compete against each other.

The game represents a good opportunity for fans of game theory to start or delve into it in a simple way. Since its rules are very simple, as are its movements, it is easy to become an expert in the game, allowing you to analyze the moves and extract all its essence.

To start playing it is necessary to prepare a game board. To do this, a grid of points of the desired dimension will be drawn. The game consists of players taking turns joining two vertically or horizontally adjacent points by means of a line. The player who closes a square, that is, the one who places a segment in such a way that the area between four adjacent points is delimited on all four sides by the segments placed by any of the two players, takes a point and returns to having the turn to put another segment.

The game ends when no more segments can be placed. The player who has closed the most squares wins.

It should be noted that the player who has the turn cannot give it up, having the obligation to put a segment. On the other hand, a player does not have the obligation to close a square, being able to choose any other movement that he considers more favorable.
