Description

Power. Profit. Double treatment and deception. The name of the game is Corruption. It's a fast-paced thriller, a battle of wits and will like nothing you've ever played. With extraordinary graphics and amazing vocabulary, this is illustrated interactive fiction at its finest! The fascinating adventure tests your ability to manipulate characters and extract information to solve the puzzle. The expansive vocabulary allows you to interact with more than 15 characters in everyday language. Powerful graphics reflecting the financial world and the London underworld.

All you know if that's his name Derek Rogers, a financial genius from the city. They have accepted a partnership offer from David Rogers, no relative, who runs a well-known finance house.

The job seems too good to be true, you just love your new BMW with everything in it. In the office, your secretary isn't exactly talkative and you don't even have your own phone. As the company will be moving into new facilities soon, he is not so concerned initially.

Soon, the little things start to worry you. There is talk of the Fraud Brigade; You are excluded from a meeting between David and the company's legal counsel. As he looks around the building, the sense of unease increases with the discovery of a very large check made out to a wanted criminal. Two attempts on his life and being framed for insider dealing aren't his only concerns. Is it more than a coincidence that you and your new partner are D. Rogers?

While there's a lot to explore, the crux of the corruption is time and character interaction. Each command takes a minute to pass. The characters move and must be interrogated so that you learn something of interest. The pack contains helpful information in the form of sheets from a personal organizer, the usual Magnetic Scrolls tips, plus an audio cassette. The latter is a good example of how an innocent conversation can be used against you.

The graphics are good and they focus on the people rather than the landscape. Corruption is not an easy game to solve. Without sensible help, some less-than-expert players may find it difficult to continue beyond the first few hours.
